1. Introduction
Synclave ("we", "us", "our", "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights regarding your information.
Synclave is a local-network synchronization application that pairs your Android phone with your Mac. All data synchronization occurs exclusively over your local network (LAN). We do not operate any cloud services, do not collect user data, and do not track your usage.
This policy applies to both the macOS and Android applications of Synclave.

4. How Your Data Is Used
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Synchronize content between your paired Android and Mac devices
- Display phone notifications, messages, and calls on your Mac
- Enable clipboard sharing between devices
- Detect phone proximity via Bluetooth
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, sale to third parties, or any purpose other than local device synchronization.
5. Data Transmission
All data transmission occurs directly between your devices over your local network (WiFi/LAN).
- Data is encrypted using TLS/SSL
- Messages are authenticated using HMAC
- Pairing uses QR code exchange for secure device authentication
- No data is sent to external servers or third parties
Your data never leaves your local network, with the sole exception of license validation described in Section 6.
6. License Validation
Synclave requires a one-time internet connection to validate your license key during initial activation. During this process:
- Your license key and a machine identifier (a non-personal hardware hash) are transmitted to our licensing provider (Lemon Squeezy) for validation
- No personal data is sent during this process
- This connection occurs only once during activation
- After activation, Synclave operates entirely offline over your local network
7. Data Storage
All data is stored locally only:
- Android: SMS/call cache stored in the app's private storage
- macOS: Messages database stored in sandboxed container
- Photos: Stored in macOS Photos library
We do not use any cloud services.
8. Data Retention
- Messages/Calls: Stored locally until you clear them or uninstall
- Photos: Managed by the macOS Photos app
- Clipboard: Held in memory only, not persisted to disk
- License key: Stored locally on your device
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the App.
9. Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate with analytics services, advertising networks, crash reporting, social media platforms, or cloud storage providers. The only third-party interaction is the one-time license validation with Lemon Squeezy.
10. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the GDPR and applicable laws, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, port, and object to processing of your data. Since all data is stored locally on your devices, these rights are fulfilled by design.

11. Legal Basis for Processing
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): You grant explicit consent through Android runtime permissions
- Contractual Necessity (Article 6(1)(b)): Processing is necessary to provide the synchronization service
12. International Data Transfers
Synclave does not transfer your personal data internationally. All synchronization data remains on your local network.
13. Data Security

14. Children's Privacy
Synclave is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
